Remington Model 770

We purchased the Remington model 770 despite some 50% good reviews 50% bad reviews, our 770 is a .270 and when we got it right out of the box we did understand some of the complaints because the bolt was sticky but its understandable especially being a gunsmith if the weapon has never been fired or messed with much, chances are the bolt is going to be sticky if its not been oiled. second thing was we just did not like the scope but we wanted to use it as you would straight out of the box so we worked with what we had.

Range Time!!!!!

Sorry there are no pictures our bossman completely forgot his phone all he wanted to do was shoot and didn't think about pictures. Although the recoil was more than anticipated it wasn't that bad, it fired smoothly. Yes if you're asking our bolt was still sticky so we just added a little more oil and when on firing, but wait we ran into an issue which was big complaint number two about the 770 package THE SCOPE!!!! WE NEVER HIT PAPER!!!! Even after 4 bullets, so we started scratching our heads becasue how are you going to do this if you're by yourself so luckly enough we set up a few more targets side by side to see where it hit and it was off pretty bad so we adjusted and after that haven't had any complaints since.

After the mishaps

Now that we have gotten past all those little mishaps we haven't experienced any issues with the 770 it fires to perfectiuon the bolt never sticks the scope is always sighned in even after banging it around normally (yes normally not like running it over or anything crazy, I guess we could but we would have to get quite a few more hits than what we are now!!!)

Carbon Express Torrid SS

Today we purchased Carbon Express Torrid SS expandable 3 blade broad heads for archery season that is right around the corner. For about $14.00 they didn't seem like a bad purchase, they have some spots on them that look like they may have sat outside or something but other than that the blades are sharp and there are no defects. We will definitely be putting these broad heads to the ultimate test throughout the next couple of weeks to see how they handle trees, rocks and other things you may hit if you are having an off day in the stand or blind.
